BALM® 12 Principles Class

Karen Zimmerman teaches the BALM® family recovery course, The 12 Principles of BALM, to help families transform their relationships with their loved ones who may be using or in recovery, to help them change their lives from chaos to calm. The class is 12 weeks with each class lasting 1.5 hours each week. For your convenience, all classes are offered virtually via Zoom.

 

Using the BALM® 12 Principles, family members will learn how to:

  • Set and stick to boundaries

  • Be your loved ones best chance at recovery

  • Erase judgements of your loved ones

  • Become aware of triggers for relapse 

  • Regain inner calm

  • Achieve peace in the home

  • Get support

  • Begin to heal relationships

Principle Two: Change Happens in Stages

Principle Three: It is Important to Let Go Without Giving Up or Giving In

Principle Four: You Can Be Your Loved One’s BEST Chance at Recovery

 

Principle Five: Keeping Your Focus On Yourself and Off of Your Loved One Will help You Both!

Principle Six: Your Primary Task is to Be A Loving Person


Principle Seven: Don’t Set A Boundary Unless You Are Determined to Stick To It!
